James joined the very first cohort of the Master Practitioner Programme (MPP). Having spent nearly 30 years in business development/sales roles across various sectors both as an employee a
nd business owner, he became involved in diversity and inclusion consultancy and training. The opportunity arose for him to attend the Programme and as he was working in the field, it was an obvious choice to reinforce existing knowledge and enhance understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I). James was particularly interested in why EDI should be taken seriously by senior organisational leaders.
MPP’s modular structure suited James as he could easily fit it around his full-time role. He found the learning approach immersive which enabled him to easily concentrate on the content being taught and fully focus on each subject area as the course progressed. The knowledge that James built up throughout the Programme equipped him well to successfully complete the final dissertation and presentation.
Attending MPP has helped James to expand his knowledge around ED&I and has enabled him to confidently discuss its many benefits to organisations, whether engaging senior board executives or junior employees. Having such conversations has led to organisation’s placing greater importance on EDI, highlighting how taking the right measurable strategic approach helps to develop an inclusive culture.
James summarises MPP by saying: “This course will solidify all your knowledge around ED&I, add new elements and help you grow into becoming an expert in the subject. It is a must have for anyone who wants to become a true modern day organisational leader!” He adds: “The Programme has been thought provoking and educational, and expanded my personal knowledge whilst being a thoroughly enjoyable learning experience.”
